You may already understand that there are many things you’ll need to do if you’d like to keep your little one’s teeth strong. For example, you may know that you should be brushing their pearly whites and flossing their little teeth once they start to touch. Still, would you be interested in learning that you should also take your kids to their first dental appointments when they are around a year old?
As you may have already guessed, your little ones may not be very comfortable with visiting the dentist. Still, this is why we recommend visiting us when your child is pretty young. You see, even though your kids may not need any dental treatments, they can become much more comfortable with visiting a dental office if they understand their surroundings.
However, there are a number things you might be able to do to make your child’s first appointments much more comfortable. For example, you should talk to your child about visiting our dentist. You could also try to find books or videos to help your little one understand what they might experience during these dental visits. After your visits, you may also want to reward your child to make it a positive experience.
If you would like to hear more about the care you can receive from us, or if you have any questions about your child’s first dental visit, please feel free to give Weeder Pediatric Dentistry in La Vista, Nebraska, a call at 402-932-1177.
